Press release: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Day With the A's
For Immediate Release American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to host “A Day With the A’S” 5/08/10. San Francisco, It is estimated that every 16 minutes a suicide occurs in the U.S., claiming the lives of more than 33,000 each year. AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education, screening, and advocacy, as well as reaching out to people suffering from mental disorders and those impacted by suicide. Please join AFSP on Saturday May 8, 2010 to watch the Oakland A’s play against the Tampa Bay Rays. The festivities will begin at 10:30AM with a tailgate party featuring food and a raffle giveaway with great prizes. All tailgate party guests will receive a 2009 Out of the Darkness Walk AFSP T-shirt. The first 10,000 baseball fans will receive an official Oakland A’s Andrew Bailey Bobblehead doll. Also on game day, there will be a silent auction hosted by the Oakland A’s featuring sporting equipment used by the A’s themselves and official team memorabilia. All proceeds from the auction and tailgate party will benefit AFSP. Tickets are on sale now for Field Level seats and start at just $24 per ticket ($26 value), with a portion of the proceeds benefiting AFSP. Special Group packages including game and tailgate admission, raffle tickets, reserve table seating, and more are available. Space is limited and the deadline for ordering tickets is 4/21/10.
